A red filter which suits your Wolf Eyes Torches with 45mm heads. This red filter obviously tints the light red so it will not disturb animals as much or upset your night vision. This filter has the ability to swivel out of the beam and allow white light, or provide filtered light. A small easily adustable screw keeps the filter attached to your flashlight. The glass in 600nm in wavelength.
This red filter will work with both our incandescent and LED flashlights, though we actually only recommed filters for incandescent lights. If you have a real need for red (or other colours) we suggest something like our X-Beam RED as it has a dedicated red LED to provide optimium throw.
The reason red fliters are less effective on any LED is that LEDs are narrow spectrum light (say blue/white) while incandescent globes are full spectrum light, meaning they have all the colours of the rainbow (especially red and yellow which is why they look a little yellow). When you place a red filter over an incadescent globe it holds back the other spectrums but lets the red spectrum through. When the same filter is placed over an LED there is very little red to pass through, so the amount of light and throw is a fraction of what the LED provides without the filter.
This red filter is fine if you wish to provide red light to walk by or similar, so as not to damage your night vision.
